Are you an experienced barber, looking to share the knowledge and skills you have built up over your career? Do you want to teach in your own shop, at a college or set up your own academy?
The assessor qualification opens the door to becoming an educator. The CAVA Level 3 Certificate we offer allows you to work as an educator in both private academies and FE (Further Education) colleges who offer formal qualifications (NVQ or Apprenticeships) from an awarding body such as City & Guilds or VTCT
We teach in small groups ensuring exceptional delivery giving you examples of teaching and assessing strategies, which will prepare you for the developing challenges you face in Education and Training today.
Flexibility allows our team to deliver the courses online, at your workplace or off site.
A motivational blend of classroom-based learning, research, one-to-one support and observations of your professional practice within your workplace.
Up-to-date information on educational policies and developments.
Advice on progression routes to enhance your career prospects.
At AcademyTeam we will guide and support you through your Assessor course including the new Apprenticeship assessing strategies. You will leave with knowledge and understanding on how to meet your job role expectations and ensuring best practices are shared to enable you to offer fully engaging and motivating training/workshop sessions to your diverse learners.
When you come on board onto our course, we pride ourselves on the research we carry out to understand your sector and tailoring the course to build an inclusive, meaningful training experience for you.
The practical element of your course is where our teaching team will arrange convenient times to visit your barbershop to carry out your practical assessments, which are needed as part of your achievement towards your course.
Having this relationship with you and your mentor/manager within your workplace reinforces our theory of face-to-face delivery, building professional relationships ensuring key understanding of your sector requirements.
Requirements:
You will need to have NVQ Level 2 in barbering and we recommend that you look to enrol on the NVQ level 3 in barbering. This widens your options to use the assessors qualification.
You will also need to have access to students undertaking their NVQ level 2 in Barbering for us to make our practical assessment of your progress.
We can assist with both of these requirements and if you have any questions please get in touch with Suzanne, our Head of Centre, who will talk you through the process.
Suzanne can be reached here: helpdesk@academyteam.co.uk

We recommend that you apply for an Enhanced DBS Certificate and can arrange this for you if required.
