A one day course for working hairdressers looking to add barbering techniques to their skillset.

Runs 10:00am - 4:00pm at Luke & Company Barbering Academy

Covering the tools and basic techniques of male barbering, this confidence developing, hands on course builds on your hairdressing basics

The course is led in small groups by Suzanne and Luke. Together they will support you with your work on the live models provided.

The course runs from 10am-4pm at Lukes Barbershop & Academy in Ruislip

  • The day starts with an introduction to barbering tools and how to use them, understanding the clipper guards, holding the clippers and how to use the clippers with and without guards. We will also cover the Health & Safety issues around barbering.

  • A Live demonstration of a No 2 Fade rounds out the theory and instruction - We discuss influencing factors before carrying out the haircut. Demonstrate fade techniques. How to define the canvas, blending long into short, styling the hair and then how to personalise and refine the haircut and the use of products.

  • You will then have the opportunity to deliver a No 2 fade and a 0.5 fade to your own live models, Supported by Suzanne and Luke

  • The day rounds off with a feedback session and summary of the day’s experience

Models and barbering tools will be provided but we recommend you bring your own hairdressing kit. If you have barbering tools, you are welcome to bring them along and if you have your own models, they are welcome too, just let us know in advance.

Progression: You can progress on to our Advanced one day course in Barbering for Hairdressers and then on to our Fade Masterclass or a Level 3 NVQ in Barbering
